Rebecca Connolly | CHD Care at Home Regional Manager

There’s no such thing as an ‘average day’ at work for Rebecca; she enjoys new challenges, highlights and achievements each day. Her favourite part of the role, however, is having the opportunity to work with a diverse team and watching them empower their carers to ensure the highest care is delivered at all times.


Despite Rebecca’s vast experience in the care sector, she hasn’t always been part of the industry. She began her working life as a holiday rep; and when returning home between seasons, she started a job in a care home as a kitchen porter.


Following this, Rebecca decided that she wanted to be a care assistant - and she never looked back. She progressed to a team leader, deputy manager and then decided to transition to the home care department. Here, she started as a care supervisor, before quickly becoming a branch manager.


Rebecca worked her way up in the care sector for 7 years before moving into an operations role and then joining CHD as a regional manager in 2020.


Rebecca’s most memorable moment in her career to date was when her workplace became the first branch in Hampshire to achieve an Outstanding CQC inspection.

 

Rebecca has kindly answered a few quick-fire questions…

 

What makes CHD Living different from other care groups?

As a family-run care group, you always feel part of the CHD family. Everyone is supported throughout their career, and the high standards of care we provide are the focus of everything we do.

 

How do you ensure a good work-life balance?

I ensure that I make time for my family at home; it’s so vital, and making memories is important. I am fortunate that my family has always fully supported me throughout my career.

 

What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t dream of your success; wake up and make it happen.

 

What qualities make a great team leader?

Compassion, communication and leading teams to success.

 

How do you picture CHD Living in 10 years?

Continuing to lead the way in the care industry, diversifying the skills in the company to grow, and branching out into new care avenues. I also picture CHD becoming an outstanding provider.
