Here at CHD Living, we’re working hard across all our homes and services to keep our residents, staff and visitors safe.
Entering Our Homes
CHD stands for ‘creating happiness daily’ and having strong connections with loved ones is an important part of that. So, to ensure the wellbeing of our residents, and in line with the latest government guidelines, we will, where possible, continue with visitations in our homes.
It’s imperative that our measures are adhered to in order to keep everyone safe, so we do ask that you continue to wear your face covering (unless exempt) around the home and wash your hands regularly and thoroughly.
Touching and interacting with loved ones is essential for wellbeing, and so we do encourage hand-holding when you visit. There will be no need to wear gloves for this, but we do ask that you be mindful of safety at all times and wash your hands before and after.
Visitors
Residents must now only have 3 main points of contact (this does not include essential caregivers and pre-school age children). We understand that this may be hard for your family, and so we will endeavour to continue communicating through online platforms and over the phone to help your loved one stay connected throughout this difficult time.
To enable us to spread out visitations, and to ensure that each family has a well-ventilated, clean and comfortable room, we ask that you book your visit in advance. This can allow us to prepare rooms and manage the situation effectively, without compromising your visit time or anyone’s safety.
Whilst we will endeavour to allow you to spend as much time as possible with your loved one, we do ask for your understanding that in circumstances where the safety of visitors, staff or residents may be compromised, we may need to manage visiting times accordingly.
Before your visit, please take a lateral flow test and register your negative result. You may do this here if you need a test, but please wait for your results before entering the home.
PPE and Infection Control
We will continue to monitor the situation and carry out the necessary risk assessments. We’ll also use the appropriate PPE and infection prevention control measures. Staff and residents will undertake regular testing, and where appropriate, will isolate.
We understand the significant impact isolation can have on our residents, and so, where possible, we will strive to continue visits to help keep their spirits up. These may include stringent measures such as through windows or in special ‘pods’ to help keep everyone safe.
These measures will remain under constant review in line with current recommendations from the government. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Many thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
