Putting your efforts into achieving a goal that means a lot to you will help to boost your mood, whilst fulfilling them will instil a sense of pride and accomplishment.
You could plan a trip you've been dreaming about, learn a new language or redesign your garden.
However big or small, your goal is personal to you, and achieving it can help to boost your mental wellbeing.

Improve Your Sleep Pattern
Lack of sleep is often associated with low mood. Breaking the cycle and working on your sleeping habits can improve how you feel on a daily basis and reduce the risk of various health conditions, such as stress.
Spending time outdoors, exercising and socialising can all contribute to a better night’s sleep, as you’ll be spending your energy in a positive way.
Reducing your caffeine and alcohol intake, especially before bedtime, can help you to sleep better.
Ensuring your room is free of distractions can help you settle down for a comfortable sleep. You could try limiting screen exposure before you go to bed; why not read a book?
You could also use lavender to help promote a restful night’s sleep, as well as making sure your room is a clean and comfortable space. When you’re feeling low, you may find that one of the most effective ways to improve your mental health is to take a look at all the things you’re grateful for in your life.
This could be having a roof over your head, food on the table, a loving family, or the opportunity to make new friends. It could even be as simple as feeling grateful for your garden blooming well this year.
Keep a journal, listing five things you’re grateful for each day, to help you find the joy in the little details and appreciate what you have. When you feel your mood dipping, you can use this as a method of reflection.
