Welcome

Surrey Hills supports people living with a variety of complex dementia types including Alzheimers, Vascular Dementia, Frontal Lobe dementia’s and dementia types associated with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and Stroke. The service prides itself on delivering high quality care to people who may experience distress through their diagnosis and those who are reaching the end of their life. Staff at Surrey Hills support people in a way that maximises comfort, dignity and a sense of warmth through kindness, compassion and understanding.

The service benefits from large, open plan communal areas to ensure that people do not feel isolated or lonely. Staff encourage people living in the service to feel part of a community and to engage in activities that are person centred and meaningful.

We recognise that people living in a care setting who have a diagnosis of dementia can sometimes feel lost, restricted or anxious. The service strives to ensure that people feel like they are at home, where people are treated like family, not residents.

Janet T (Daughter of resident). 17/06/19

"My mother moved into Surrey Hills in early May 2019. Myself and my family couldn't believe how quickly she settled in. We were able to choose the room we felt most suitable for her, and she was able to bring along her own furniture. I believe the home wishes to work together with residents and families to ensure consistent well-being is met."

S H (Daughter of resident). 15/01/19

"My Mother came into the home only a few days ago. I came to visit her today and was overwhelmed with the kindness and welcoming staff. Mum had been in hospital for 9 weeks, and the change I saw in such a short time is amazing. I can't thank you all enough."

Raymond & Susie F (Son of Resident). 10/04/19

"My mother lived with us for two years, until ill health saw her admitted to hospital. The change since she has resided at Surrey Hills is amazing. I was so happy to see that her mobility, appetite and outlook completely changed for the better. This is almost entirely due to the wonderful staff, all of which are very helpful, informative of mum's current condition, and very welcoming when we visit."
